Getting Involved

Eucharist

As Catholics, we believe the Eucharist is the real presence of Jesus Christ and that He lovingly offers Himself as spiritual nourishment with each celebration of the Mass. This intimate exchange with the Lord strengthens us spiritually and brings us closer to God. Individuals unable to attend Mass may request the Holy Eucharist be brought to them as the need arises.

First Holy Communion at Saint Philip Neri

The sacraments of Christian Initiation – baptism, confirmation and the Eucharist – lay the foundations of every Christian life. The faithful are born anew by baptism, strengthened by the sacrament of confirmation and receive in the Eucharist the food of eternal life.

Children may receive the sacrament of first Eucharist in the spring of second grade or older.

For older children and teens who are interested in receiving the sacraments of Initiation (baptism, reconciliation and/or first holy Communion), please contact the Director of Faith Formation, Mary Harden at 803.548.7282 ext. 226

Adults who are interested in receiving the sacraments of initiation (baptism, reconciliation and/or first holy Communion), please contact the parish office at 803.548.7282.
