Evangelization Ministries

The St. Philip Neri Evangelization Ministries offer parishioners the opportunity to discover Jesus, become His disciple, and be a witness by proclaiming the Good News.

Catholic Social Teaching Ministry

The Catholic Social Teaching Ministry seeks to help parishioners see the challenges of modern society – poverty, homelessness, immigration, racism, globalization – through the lens of our Catholic Faith. Grounded in the rich tradition of Catholic School Teaching, the ministry seeks to live out the Gospel by promoting peace, living in solidarity with the poor and marginalized, and advocating for change wherever injustice exists. Catholic Social Teaching is a central and essential element of our faith. Click here for additional information

Emmaus Experience – Men’s

This program, available for men 21 years of age and over, provides a weekend to reflect on one’s spiritual relationship with Jesus. It is based on St. Luke’s account of two disciples and Jesus as they walked together to Emmaus. These retreats, which offer a respite from the stresses of daily life, help individuals to renew their spiritual life, strengthen their relationship with Jesus and the Holy Spirit, and spend time with God. All men are invited to meet Jesus on their personal walk to Emmaus.

Meets: The retreat is offered once a year, in the Spring; post retreat meetings for participants are held monthly, the second Thursday of the month, 7:00 pm

Emmaus Experience – Women’s

The Women’s Christian Walk is a weekend retreat based on the Biblical account of Jesus’ walk with two disciples on the road to Emmaus. The retreat provides an opportunity to leave behind busy schedules and worldly distractions to take time to ponder the ways in which the risen Christ reveals his love for us in the journey of life. After the retreat, participants continue to meet for breakfast once a month to continue sisterhood with each other and to deepen their relationship with God.

Meets: The retreat is offered once a year, in the Fall; post retreat meetings for participants are held every Saturday at 8:00 am

Respect Life Ministry

The Respect Life Ministry focuses on increasing the awareness of the dignity and sanctity of all human life from conception to natural death. The ministry educates our parishioners about the moral evils of abortion, infanticide, embryonic stem cell research, euthanasia, and assisted suicide, and aims to defend and restore the Culture of Life, through campaigns of prayer and worship.

The ministry sponsors projects to protect and defend the unborn, the disabled, the terminally ill, and the elderly. Activities include Res pect Life Sunday and Annual Life Chain (first weekend in October); the celebration of Grandparent’s Day, Mother’s Day and father’s Day; attending the Stand Up for Life in Columbia and March for Life in Washington DC.

Additionally, the ministry promotes the Blessing of Pregnant Women, Walking With Moms in need and provides support for couples facing infertility or poor prenatal diagnoses, as well as post abortion healing information.  Click Here for additional information.

Walk With One

In the Scriptures, we hear over and over again how Jesus invited people one by one to follow him. He also invites us to follow him more deeply and, just like him, to “walk with one” person to a new or renewed experience of God’s love.  Click Here for information on “bringing the Good News” to others.  Click Here for the Eucharistic Examen
